Maine residents can also take part in the Multi-State lotteries Megamillions, Powerball, Lotto America and Lucky 4 Life. In August 2021, Powerball added a third weekly draw on Monday, joining its Wednesday and Saturday schedule. Maine also added Powerball Double Play in January 2025.
Maine was the scene of one of the biggest Mega Millions wins of all time in January 2023. The jackpot had soared to an incredible $1.35 billion, just short of the biggest in history, and one lucky ticket holder from the Pine Tree State was the sole winner across the country. The winning entry was purchased in York County in the town of Lebanon.
